Access the American Hotel and Lodging Association Website located at http://www.ahla.com/ and the National Restaurant Association Website located at http://www.restaurant.org; Go to the careers section of each Website and review the various types of management opportunities.

Write a 5-6 page paper in which you:

Describe the various types of management careers that can be offered within each industry (lodging and food and beverage).
Compare and contrast the differences between the General Management (GM) positions within the two industries.
Analyze and describe the growth in overall employment within these two industries and how this overall growth is forecasted within the next ten years.
Recommend at least three (3) human resource practices in which each industry and better recruit and retain management talent for their respected industry.
Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

There are various management positions in both the lodging industry and the food and beverage industry. Lodging managers have the responsibility of keeping their establishment efficient and also profitable. The general manager in the lodging industry sets the room rates, allocates funds to the departments, approves expenditures and ensures the expected standards for guest service, house keeping and banquet operations. Executive house keepers ensure that the guest rooms, meeting and banquet rooms are clean, orderly and also well maintained. They also train, schedule and supervise the work of the house keepers, do inspection of the rooms and order the cleaning supplies.  Front office managers usually coordinate reservations and room assignments. They usually ensure that the guests are treated courteously, the complaints and problems are resolved and also the requests for the special services are carried out for the guests.
