Restorative Justice Approach
According to Johnstone (2011), restorative justice is used to describe an approach to justice that places much emphasis on both the needs of the offenders and victims, and includes the involved community. Under the restorative justice, victims are required to take an active role. On the other hand, the offenders should be in a position to take or accept responsibilities for their behaviors/actions. It is worth mentioning that restorative justice focuses on the personal needs of both the offender and the victim, and goes further to provide assistance to the offender as a way of preventing him or her from engaging in similar offences in future.
