The authors are trying to answer the question whether men with excessive alcohol consumption and social stability have an addictive personality. Hypothesis: Male individuals with excessive alcohol consumption and social stability do not have an addictive personality. The hypothesis was accepted with the results that men with excessive alcohol consumption do not have a personality that is different from that of a general population. This means that there is no addictive personality. Individuals who have excessive alcohol consumption are described according to personality and other characteristics (Berglund, Roman, Balldin, Berggren, Eriksson, Gustavsson & Fahlke, 2011).  

In this study, personality traits of male individuals with excessive alcohol consumption were investigated and a comparison was made with control experiments. The mean values from both experiments were compared. Both the control group and the male individuals with excessive alcohol consumption and social stability had mean values with normative range in all scales of the Karolinska Scales of Personality.
