This essay aims at describing how Alexander the Great came to become what he was during those days of the past. From his life as a young boy to what transpired so that he could become the king of Macedon since such things do not just happen to anyone, at most times it is either hereditary or chosen. Considering that during the past decades, this succession mainly occurred between sons of the ruling family, Alexander just happened to be one of those lucky sons who succeeded his father. It was believed that, Philip of Macedon who had conquered Greece was allegedly murdered by his older wife, Olympias, who he had cast aside for a younger woman.
