Did God break his Promise to David?
It would seem that God broke his promise to David after the Babylon invasion that left all of his descendants dead. During his tenure, King David had successfully defeated his enemies whereby he decided to build the temple of the Lord for worship. However, God spoke to him against building the temple with the assertion that his heir shall build the temple of worship (Jones, 2014). However, the cornerstone of the promise was based on the fact that the heir of David shall seat on the throne to rule the kingdom forever (The gospel truth, n.d.). However, this was before the Babylon captivity that saw David descendants killed. Despite this, the covenant of God with David has been fulfilled. Therefore, Jesus was the descendant/seed of David………………
