UNIT 7 – DISCUSSION BOARD
Hello everyone,
Today I will speaking on the Federal WelFare graph. Basically, the graph gives stats on how 100 million people received government assistance in the years of 2009, 2010, and 2011. When I first viewed the graph I approved it because it gave what the graph was for, the years plus the quarters, the number of people per year and quarter, what welfare that was not included in the census, and as well as who performed the census. What I had appreciated most about this census is that it gave a credible source which is the Republican Party. Of course this graph is now outdated and people would need information that\’s more current. Another part of this graph I approved is the time frame.
The source didn\’t give information for the year overall, it was broken down into a smaller sector so that viewers can identify the progression or decline in government welfare. What I now see that determines this graph to be misleading is the \”why\”. What I mean by that is were there any factors that caused more people to receive government welfare? Were there more people to receive disability? Was is because of an increase of Unemployment? There could have been many factors, which is why I now believe that the 100mil that\’s reported to be on government welfare should have been broken down for a clearer understanding.
