Group Staffing Consultation Project
As a strategic consulting team in human resource planning, your group has been selected to be
the consultant team of “staffing experts” for an organization! The goal is to ultimately help an
actual business or organization (profit or non-profit), to more effectively structure their staff,
but also to implement a series of strategies for long-term (5 years) of staffing planning.
The company or organization of choice can be of any size, and the point of view is always that
of providing strategic staffing consultation to a Board of Directors, an entrepreneur or owner,
Human Resources Director or recently developed Executive Marketing and Sales Team, who
must direct, make staffing decisions, (which are also financially beneficial), and take action to
ensure leadership within 5 years.
Project Primary and Secondary Research Requirements: This is a research assignment. You
must conduct both secondary research AND primary research (i.e. interview at least one
Manager, Owner, Entrepreneur, Human Resources Director and/or Marketing and Sales
Director, and include their coordinates – name, tel#, email — in the reference section).
Project Primary Research: Interview
Strategic staffing recommendations must incorporate and be based from findings from the
secondary research, but also primary research findings.
Regarding primary research, teams must conduct at least one interview with at least one
manager, human resources manager, owner or CEO of the company / organization to truly
understand the staffing challenges the company / organization is facing and also to better
identify the opportunities. The interview must be documented (i.e. interview notes) and
also included in the appendices in the Final Written Staffing Consultation Report.

My part is: CHALLENGES and OBSTACLES (20%) –
Based from the primary research interview – combined with staffing organizations
concepts, themes, practical examples and discussions from the course – the main
challenges and staffing obstacles for the organization. In addition, key points regarding
why the challenges are occurring (e.g. history, lack of resources, structure, time
availability of the owner, etc); challenges related to the industry (or is it specific to the
organization), and/or the challenges / staffing obstacles compared with the
Competition.

Challenges and Staffing Obstacles for Investors Group(IG)
It is evident that firms are finding it difficult to get the employees they need. This aspect is brought about by the fact that there is stiff competition for talented and skilled employees in the labor market. At the same time, the nature of IG’s operations further makes it hard for the corporation to not only attract talented employees but also retain them. These aspects have led to IG facing various challenges and obstacles in its quest to recruit employees whose knowledge and skills conform to their job descriptions.
One of the challenges that IG is facing is that in its recruitment process the limited resources. The company’s resource are very scarce, hence need to be utilized in an effective and efficient manner.
