Does a person’s gender matter when it comes to whether or not an act is considered sexual harassment/coercion?
Sexual harassment refers to unacceptable demands for sexual favors, sexual advances, and other physical or verbal conduct of a sexual nature. In most cases, sexual harassment takes place when the actions or behaviors of a given individual create an offensive or hostile work environment. Some good examples of areas where sexual harassment is most likely to occur include educational settings, military, and in the workplace (Crooks & Baur, 2014).
