Pre-assessments assist teachers in identifying skills and abilities students currently possess, and what learning must take place to move students forward. Post-assessments provide teachers the ability to reflect upon the effectiveness of his or her teaching, as well as inform future instruction.
PRETEND YOU ARE WORKING WITH A MENTOR:
Based on input from your mentor teacher and literacy assessment data your mentor provides, create a mini-lesson plan using the “Literacy Mini-Lesson Template” to be implemented with a small group of students in your field experience classroom.
Your mini-lesson must include:
