For this assignment, you may address either of the writing situations below.
An increasing number of first-year students are dropping out of your major because of low grades, stress, or inability to keep up with the work. Your task is to prepare a \”survival guide\” for distribution to incoming students in your major. The text for this three-fold brochure should contain information about the challenges and pitfalls of the first year in your program, and should include a brief motivational section, along with whatever else you think might help your readers succeed.
Not enough women are entering your major and/or your chosen profession. Your job is to prepare a three-fold brochure targeting women who might want to consider training for your field. Discuss the requirements and benefits of your profession, and the personal assets required to perform the job. Consider including a brief motivational section that anticipates and meets women\’s possible objections about their suitability or acceptability for the profession.
For either option you choose, design a three-fold brochure as described in WoJ, Chapter 5.
