Mummification was a process developed by the Egyptians to preserve a body because they believed that physical body was very important to ka’s survival. According to Sayre (2012), the Egyptians used an elaborate method of mummification where they opted to carry the dead body across the Nile to purify it by washing it with Natron. They used Natron because of its ability to absorb body fluids. Lewis (2005) adds that the Egyptians also made significant effort to strengthen a dead body to ensure that some of its parts did not break off. For example, the toes were wrapped separately and supported by gold sheaths…………….
