Duties and Responsibilities

This week’s duties were similar to the ones I fulfilled in the previous weeks; I was the first point of contact between the customers and the community pharmacy’s employees and the sales and marketing teams. I fulfilled the following responsibilities under the directions of my supervisor:

I interacted with the pharmacy employees and attended to their needs.

I relayed the needs and requests of the customers to the staff owner and the employees.

I resolved the complaints of customers and responded to their emails, phone calls, and comments, or opinions on social media.

Employment Goals and Expectations

Employment goals generally entail making decisions on what type of knowledge and skills to develop, setting financial objectives, and identify the need for the vision. Workingin customer liaison and marketing at a community pharmacy, my ultimate employment goals include increasing the business’ revenue every year. By driving the pharmacy’s revenue higher, I will be significantly expanding its profitability and thereby helping my employer reap the rewards and benefits of running the pharmacy . The other employment goal is to diversify my responsibilities as an employee. This will enable me to alternate duties with my fellow employees, and by doing so, I will be fulfilling more than one role in my workplace. My employment expectations include having accurate and timely payment of wages, working conditions that are safe, and constructive and fair feedback from my supervisor .

Job Responsibilities and Suggestions to Improve the Business

Besides interacting with customers and my fellow employees by attending to their needs at the pharmacy, other job responsibilities that I speculate include helping the public and patients, evaluating their medical condition, and recommending them on what type of medication they can obtain from the pharmacy. Howerver, I may not only improve the business by engaging in other responsibilities but also by making new suggestions to my supervisor. One of the tips I would make to my supervisor is to allow the autonomy of employees and make use of feedback from employees. Employees feel much valued and trusted when their autonomy is respected, and their feedback is responded to by the management .

Many of the duties and responsibilities that I completed in this week were similar to those of the previous week. For starters, I was involved in the process of interacting with clients and attending to their needs. Secondly, I was involved in listening to some of the queries which were raised by the clients. In that way, I was able to improve the quality of services which were offered to the clients. Lastly, I interacted with other employees, and the relayed their needs to the organizational leadership. Consequently, I was able to improve the working environment in the organization and hence boost the levels of employee productivity.

As well, I had several interactions with my direct supervisor and my coworkers. Starting with my immediate supervisor, I was able to collaborate on a number of issues which touched on the issues of quality improvement in the organization. Just like in the previous weeks, my interaction with the supervisor was positive. Additionally, I interacted with my fellow co-workers. I encouraged them so that they could be motivated to achieve the organizational goals. Additionally, I listened to their needs tried to create ways to solve them. Apart from the above, I relayed the needs of clients to the employees.

There are different soft skills which I required in the process of carrying out my mandate. To start with, I used communication skills which enabled me to have positive interactions with my fellow employees and the supervisor. As well, I used leadership skills in the process of solving different client issues without the emergence of conflict. Also, I used skills in teamwork which helped me to work with other employees without any problems. In the entire process, there are instances where critical thinking was applied, for example, when dealing with client complaints and when collaborating with other employees.

My communication skill is above average because I can give and receive a different kind of information and adjust the tone and style of voice and language to suit different workplace conversations. For example, when a customer wants to know more about a specific medicine, I would explain it with simple words and a pleasant demeanor to help them acquire the information. My listening skill is also above average since I engage in active listening, which requires undivided attention to the details provided by different speakers and seeks clarifications when unsure of the individual’s information. In a nutshell, I utilize my above-average communication skills daily during interactions with customers and colleagues in the workplace.

Self-Motivation: Self Rating 4

My self-motivation is exceptional because I do not need any supervision to perform my duties. I am very committed to attending to customers in the community pharmacy by demonstrating a lot of reliability. My ambitions have been to serve clients to make them satisfied. For example, I ensure that all customers’ requests are processed and delivered timely and according to their expectations. As a result, my high-level self-motivation has strengthened my suitability to fit into any organizational structure and commitment to deliver the expected outcomes of the position’s functions without minimal supervision from my superiors.

I rarely utilize my average leadership skill at work, despite being allowed to do whenever I am required to supervise the junior staff’s activities during the absence of the pharmacy manager. In this regard, I fail to direct the timely completion of their duties and provide the relevant feedback and support required to deliver expected outcomes. It is why my subordinates do not ask for my help to solve challenges with the tasks.

I am very responsible since my responsibility skills are very exceptional. One way that I apply this skill at work is the prompt relay of customers’ requests and their needs according to established organizational procedures and protocols. Another example of applying this skill is how I communicate with the pharmacy owner and staff regarding any request and customer needs. Similarly, I have also been responsible for performing critical duties that contributed to improvements in the pharmacy’s sales performance and overall customer satisfaction levels.

My above-average teamwork skills are used to communicate clearly and efficiently with the community pharmacy staff and owner daily. Additionally, I have also been an active listener who has collaborated with colleagues daily and strengthening the level of trust within the teams. Similarly, this above-average skill enables us to understand task-based and interpersonal issues that affect our duties and implement measures to resolve them promptly. Hence, this skill has increased my confidence in interacting with pharmacy customers and the ease of attending to customer’s requests regularly.

For this week, I accomplished different duties and responsibilities. First, I was active in the process of interacting with the employees at the pharmacy. In such moments I was able to listen to their needs and find ways of addressing them. That helped employees to carry out their duties in the best way possible. Secondly, I was involved in interacting with the clients in the digital platforms. During such instances, I was able to address their queries and offer advice on different matters.

My interaction with the immediate supervisor was mainly focused on the manner there can be improvements in services that are offered in the organization. To be specific, we discussed how I could make interactions on different digital platforms to be more productive. As well, I made a point of interacting with my coworkers, whereby I played an active role in addressing their needs. I also offered a word of encouragement as a way of keeping them motivated while carrying out their mandate. In the end, my interactions with my immediate supervisor and employees led to an improvement in productivity in the organization.

There are different soft skills that I used in the course of my interactions. To begin with, I utilized active listening when communicating with my fellow employees. That enabled them to feel heard and hence motivated to work for the organization. Additionally, I used my leadership skills in solving the issues which were brought up by the customer. In addressing the problems, leadership skills were necessary to ensure that I did not get easily agitated, which will adversely affect the quality of services. Besides that, there were certain instances where I made use of critical thinking. For example, when I was trying to deal with the issues which were raised by the employees. There was a need to use critical thinking to understand issues from the perspective of the employee. That will make the process of dealing with them easier.

Many of the activities I was involved in this week were similar to the prior weeks. First, I was actively interacting with other employees. I listened to their needs and gave feedback to ensure a smooth and efficient running of the pharmacy or passed the same to my superior, where I was not in a position to handle the issue on my own. Secondly, I assisted customers in making their purchases and responded to their queries to help them make the accurate and required purchase. Furthermore, Involvement in customer services contributed to the overall improvement in the quality of customer experience in the pharmacy.

My supervisors’ interaction was a little more than usual as I was more involved in the pharmacy’s daily activities and encountered issues that needed their level of managerial superiority. I was able to be involved as a team within the management in solving some of the rising organizational issues. I was also able to interact with the employees in our daily routines to serve customers and listened to their issues, and provided feedback where applicable. Moreover, I had communications daily with both the customers, fellow employees, and my supervisor regarding different issues. I communicated well with customers while making purchases and providing feedback to their queries about different pharmacy products.

I used my different soft skills while performing my responsibilities in the organization. First, good communication skills were portrayed in my communication with fellow employees, as they always seem satisfied with my feedback concerning their issues. I had teamwork, as I worked together with other employees in the pharmacy hand in hand daily. We had interchangeable roles and could work on any part of the pharmacy. Furthermore, during the week, in some scenarios, I had to apply critical thinking to solve disputes between employees and responding to customers who had problems with a product or service.
