Examine the influence of a psychology principle, theory or concept from Chapters 6, 7 or 9 in everyday life.

Apply psychological concepts or theories about chapters 6,7, & 9 (attached below) to the world outside of the classroom environment.

Examine the influence of a psychology principle, theory, or concept from Chapters 6, 7, or 9 in everyday life. The assignment should be framed around a research question (e.g. “what facets of memory are impaired in people with schizophrenia?”; “can a machine ever truly be conscious?”) and fleshed out using both relevant information from the text and at least one (1) other external source of information. Acceptable sources for the scope of this project include research articles (from peer-reviewed journals), popular media articles (print/online newspaper or magazine articles), and popular media content (music, poems, plays, TV shows, films). Students will use at least one (1) of each source type to compare/contrast to the material in the text throughout the semester. Students may elect to use more than one source per assignment (i.e., examine both a film and a research article in assignment), but must use each source type at least once (i.e., can’t just use magazine articles for each assignment).

Students will submit a paper that is 1-3 pages single spaced which identifies and explores in depth a research question related to Chapters 6, 7 OR 9 of the textbook. Students will use at least one external source to support or contrast with the information laid out in the text. Summaries of information should be clear, concise, and thorough and include appropriate in-text citations. An APA-style reference page must be included at the end.
