You will write three drafts of this paper, thus utilizing a “process” approach, in which your writing will evolve and improve due to an extended time for revision, and feedback from both your peers and your teacher.

Provide 2 – 3 paragraphs of biographical information about your historical figure
In the second draft, you must:Revise your introduction and biography of your figure
Write 3 – 4 paragraphs that 1) explain why your historical figure was influential to the cultural movement of the 1960s, and 2) provide evidence to prove your ideasWrite a conclusion that restates your thesis and summarizes your main points
Include a works cited page using APA format

During the 1960s, the United States culture went through tremendous changes. These changes were brought about by the civil rights movement which advocated for the civil of women and Africa Americans. During this period, young people looked for role models in the fields of both politics and culture. However, most heroes and heroines during this era were entertainers and activists. There were few women heroines in politics, an aspect that made it difficult for them to advocate for their political rights.
