1) Many studies have found people who are incarcerated for a short amount of time have negative outcome on the defendant case and causes the jury, judge, district attorney to draw negative conclusions. These effects can cause someone to lose a job, house and even family. These situations hinder people from bettering their life and putting the bad time behind them. People can lose the support and even respect from their family if they believe the situation wont get better. Violating pretrial conditions will help get someone a guilty verdict. But if they follow all rules and regulations they will have a better chance at proving their innocent. But these rules and regulations be so hard to a average person to follow and they end up being charged harsher. People just want to not to in there for that long so they wont lose their jobs or house but court rules hinder them from taking care of family and they be force to break the rules of the court and end up jail. The system needs reforming and help. Many laws where made long ago and they all need to be refreshed to new times.
2)There has been studies that pretrial detention have found that even on small number of days in custody awaiting trial can have many negative effects that can actually increase the likelihood that people will be found guilty. Pretrial detention can also change their housing disabilities and employment status. Overall they can have an increased chance that they will be convicted of new charges. While in custody for pretrial detention anything you do or even say can risk the chance of you being found guilty or new charges so during pretrial it is important to stay sharp. There is actually people trying to figure out bail reformatories to reduce this disparity. one bail reform idea is to encourage the use of more objective criteria in the release decision process. Another bail reform could be to aim making the pretrial release decision more rationally related to the purposes of bail by improving the criteria considered by the judge.
