Alan Lightman has a PhD in theoretical physics. He now teaches in the humanities. We will be reading another piece by him, an excerpt from the novel, Einstein’s Dreams. Lightman wrote this essay in 2002. Some of the technologies he uses as examples are now dated. Switch the words around in your head to the current technologies when you read this. Don’t let the older technologies keep you from getting his point.
