The characters in both paintings are similar (because it is believed to be Eve in the crook of the arm of God). However, the effect of Humanism has hugely varied the form in which the human body is depicted. The medieval times were basically the initial stages of ‘religion influence,’ and by the Renaissance times, religion had established its roots in the entire society. In terms of art, it is clear that in medieval times art pieces were very simple as compared to artwork during the Renaissance era. The medieval paintings appreciated religious events and characters, which is not done with similar details in the Sistine Chapel’s painting. On the other hand, the Adam painting on Sistine Chapel’s ceiling by Michelangelo Creation demonstrates the ‘divinity’ associated with religion. Even though the theme portrayal in both artworks vary based on their meaning, both utilize artistic tones that portray balance and motive to humanity’s meaning. The medieval Lord as shown approaching Adam and Eve defines humanity’s complexities unrealistically as compared to Michelangelo’s. Contrastingly, Michelangelo’s expresses humanity in a more natural and figurative way. The composition involved has more details and robustness, hence allows every subject to be more lifelike and distinctive. Michelangelo used a more humanistic approach through emphasis on classical aspects, including nudeness and various features that show our sense-of-self. The viewpoints involved in both the Adam painting on Sistine Chapel’s ceiling by Michelangelo Creation and the medieval Adam and Eve Reproached by the Lord deeply vary. The view of humanity according to medieval shows the Lord as having more power and demands. The Michelangelo Creation portrays the Lord in more humanly way. Despite His power, the Lord appears friendlier to His people. The color in the painting makes it more vibrant and makes it appear more human-like.

Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam painted on the Sistine Chapel is a story from the bible that he wants everyone to see and learn about. This painting is very detailed that portrays Adam as a God from his nudity. In the painting you can also see and feel the people emotions and reactions to what is happening in the to story of Adam. This paining is focused on religion and having as many people see it as possible when they enter the chapel.
Whereas, the medieval Adam and Eve Reproached by the Lord is more focused on telling the story though human behavior and nature less focused on religion. This style of art is also more for private viewing not public.
