Describe what you have learned about the process of scholarly inquiry.
Reflections on Your Learning and Next Steps
In this course, you have been challenged to apply research, information-literacy skills, and critical thinking to identify and critique sources associated with a topic of interest to you and to evaluate how you might go about conducting a research study to answer a proposed research question. There is no requirement that you pursue your research topic and research question any further than this class. However, you may have discovered a topic or research interest that intrigues you enough that you think you want to complete your dissertation or ADP on this subject.
In this final Weekly Discussion assignment of Scholarly Argument II, reflect on your learning throughout the course. In your initial post:
Describe what you have learned about the process of scholarly inquiry.
Identify the skills and knowledge you have developed or enhanced in this course that will help you in other UoR courses and in completing your doctoral research project.
Discuss the skills or knowledge you need to continue to develop.
Discuss whether you believe you have identified a topic that will have significance and meaning to you as you move forward to pursue your doctoral research project. If not, share any ideas you have for a different research topic for your doctoral research project.
Identify what you need to do to advance your thinking, planning, and preparation to begin work on your dissertation or applied doctoral project.
Respond to the initial posts of at least two of your classmates. Compare your own initial post to your classmate’s, discuss where you agree with your classmate, and what (if any) skills and competencies your classmate mentioned that you might consider adding to your own list of accomplishments during this course.
