Using the class reading and class lecture material, What was the significance of the Chicano Movement and how did the movement deal with sexism and gender politics? What important issues/topics/questions does Castillo raise in the Introduction, Chapters 1 and 3 (choose at least  1 from each chapter to analyze fully) ? What is Xicanisma, what are the basic tenets that she is formulating in these chapters? And how does it differ from White women’s feminism? In the interview with Ana Castillo, how does she define her work as a writer and what other important points does she raise about Xicanisma and her work as a writer and activist.  Feel free to add any other analysis you may have this week.
