Develop a case study of an administrative issue in your school district or any other known district. This Case Study Analysis will help prepare students for the SBL and SDL NYS School Leadership Assessments. This will be first accomplished from both building and district level perspectives. Second, evaluation that requires analyzing multiple documents will be accomplished by the use of all or some of the SBL questions below. The SBL exam is perceived as more difficult than the SDL exam, therefore, this course helps to prepare students in the program for this significant benchmark exam. Please proceed in this order in your response. Please label each section:

Provide the demographics of the case study district. Summarize the case, state the problem, identify and provide information regarding the people involved and any other relevant information.  Brainstorm various solutions to the problem. Select one solution you would use to solve the problem and explain why you selected this solution.  For assistance, re-read the introduction in the Kowalski text as well as the “problem framing” at the end of most chapters  Also, be sure to compare your chosen solution to the PSEL Standards.

(Eight – Ten pages, at least 14 pt. type)

1.  Identify one strength of the school, citing evidence to support your response.

2.  Identify 3 areas of need in the instructional program, citing evidence to support each need.

3.  Which area of need would be your highest priority?  Explain Why.

4.  What are 2 important questions you must answer to address your highest priority? Explain why each question is important to address.

5.  How will you go about getting answers to each question?

6.  What actions would you take to address the school’s priority need? Explain why.

7.  How would you leverage the identified strength of the school to address the priority need?

8.  What possible challenges might your actions create and what are some ways that you could manage these challenges?
