Critical legal thinking
Critical legal thinking begins with logic. The syllogism is a way to illustrate logic. A syllogism has two premises, which, if true, lead to a true conclusion.
- Provide two original examples of a syllogism. Identify the premises and conclusions.
- For each syllogism, explain why it is a syllogism. Does the syllogism create a valid argument?
- Provide two original examples of a set of two premises and a conclusion that do not form a syllogism because the premises, if true, do not lead to a true conclusion. For each example explain why it is not a syllogism.
