The Chinese and American economies are deeply rooted in spending and lending and both are each other’s trading partners. Therefore, if the U.S. economy declines, so will China’s. Attempting to contain or engage in actions against China would cause unnecessary conflict and both economies would suffer tremendously. Internationally, China has verbally stated no interest in becoming the world leader and opposes hegemony. As we know, innovation is the source of a hegemon’s ability to handle economic crises and it can only flow best from open, stable democratic societies……
