What are the pros and cons of using this assessment strategy in an online or hybrid course

In their research, Gaytan and McEwen (2007) identified several online assessment strategies that were perceived as effective by faculty and students. They concluded that regardless of which specific strategies are used, “online instruction and assessment must balance the requirements of technology, delivery, pedagogy, learning styles, and learning outcomes” (pg. 130).

After reading the article and this week’s chapter readings, please select one assessment strategy to research for this week’s discussion. Please share at least one article or Web resource in support of your answers.

What are the pros and cons of using this assessment strategy in an online or hybrid course?
