- What is Ambrose’s views concerning the stat’s involvement in church affairs? Why does he hold this view?
Ambrose feels that the state should not be involved in church affairs. He believes that it is only right for the priests to be judged by fellow priests and the same case applies to the bishops. According to him, it was important to go with what was being practiced by the church elders before him. Further, he stated that he was not stating that the emperor was or was not like his father. However, what his father had accomplished was of great account and had been proven to constantly improve the state.
