MAIN PROMPT based on LIBERALISM—COMPLETE ALL PARTS (estimated word count: 2,500-3,000 words)

summarizing the thinker(s) or tradition, you will apply their ideas to analyze, interpret, or critique/criticize a popular book, movie, or TV show. See the below list for options, though you can technically choose any book (or short story), film, or TV show.

You will need to end the paper with a brief section discussing the political, social, cultural, and/or economic implications of your analysis, interpretation, or critique (i.e., how does looking at this book, film, TV show/series help us appreciate the value of the thinker[s]/ideology you have chosen).

For each part, you must show a clear understanding of the main elements of the appropriate ideology/thinker(s)/tradition, with reference to BOTH the lectures AND the assigned reading. Failure to draw on both lectures and assigned readings will result in significant loss of credit

All references to the assigned readings and lectures must be properly cited. You may use any academic citation style you wish, but be consistent. Also, all citations, whether parenthetical, footnotes, or endnotes, must include the page number (or its equivalent if you’re using an e-reader) for the assigned reading and lecture citations must include the week number and the title of the specific slide mentioned.
