Texas plural executive
The plural executive within the Texas state limits the governor’s power by distributing the power amongst the elected political leaders and the chief executive. Thus, the secretary of state is the only executive official who the governor appoints[1]. The other executive directors are appointed to office independently without the requirement of campaigning for office. Despite this, the officials do not have the responsibility of responding to the governor nor do they work to gather as a cabinet in comparison to the executive officials of the federal state who serve the U.S president.
