Obituary
ASSIGNMENT: Write an obituary of about 200 to 300 words. Look for examples in the newspaper. They are published in a separate section. An obituary is a newspaper story written when a person dies. A funeral home or relatives inform the newspaper of the death and supply facts about a person’s life. A journalist then writes up a short account of the deceased person’s life. Obituaries have a matter-of-fact tone although they often recount a person’s achievements and sometimes their beliefs. You are to decide when your death will occur and what you will have done to that point.
