Pulmonary congestion and edema
Assignment #3 (1 content page)
During an autopsy, a female victim presents with pulmonary congestion and edema. Her lungs weigh three to four times the normal weight. A closer inspection of her heart revealed that her right ventricle was unusually distended and the pulmonary artery was full. There was also focal heart muscle damage with resulting cross-brand necrosis, indicating hypercontraction of the heart muscle. During the external examination, the woman appeared relatively healthy. One small detail was she had fenestration of the nasal septum. A urine sample revealed the presence of cocaethylene.
