The main reason why Rick was let go was that he harbored various ideas that made the other managers feel threatened. The reasoning behind the changes that were made was not made clear.  Only Val seemed like he was aware of the situation.  The other managers were not aware of the thinking behind it, and this raised an alarm making them make assumptions about the situation. More so it was in the organizational culture that most of the managers were resistant to change, and they did not perceive any value for change. It is evident that Rosie and Walter had an intrinsic fear of the unknown. Rosie particularly feared the cases of incompetence. Diane on the hand seemed that he had lost most of the influence.  From the reinforcement perspective, it is most likely that Rick was let go as a mode of punishment to ensure that the likelihood of occurrence of such behavior would not occur in the organization in future (Hon, Bloom & Crant, 2014). In this case, it is evident that Rick would not be in a position to implement change if placed in a position as he was. The punishment was meant to transform him to become resistant to change if faced with such a situation……………………………………………
